Rome Assisi Capri

Pompei

August 2004 we enjoy a 12-day guided-tour of Italy.  Starting in Rome, we visited the Roman Forum, Coliseum, Palatine Hill, St. Peter’s in Chains church. We visited the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica.  Rome’s Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps will always be remembered.

A few days later we went to Ancient Pompei, continuing to Sorrento were we boarded a ferry to Capri, where we did some shopping and purchased perfume and a years supply of Lemoncello, that great beverage that made Capri famous.  From Capri we traveled to Orvieto and Assisi were we visited the Porziuncola, the church built by Francis of Assisi.

We traveled to Florence and the Academia (housing the statue of David) were we spent an evening entertained by local talent. Finally, we arrived in Venice were we spent the day in St Mark’s Square.
